New phase of busway construction to begin Sunday

NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -

A new phase of construction on the state's new busway project is set to begin on Sunday in New Britain.

In the next few months, crews will begin removing the railroad bridge over Route 9 and will be building a new busway bridge.

Work is expected to be completed during the overnight hours.

The state Department of Transportation said traffic could be halted for up to 10 minutes at a time during construction.
