NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -
Police have removed a submerged car from the water at Martha Hart Park in New Britain.
Police responded to the call just after 8 a.m. at the park located on Corbin Avenue.
Police and the underwater response team were able to pull the car from the water, shortly after 9 a.m. this morning. They are still on the scene and are currently looking into how the car ended up in the water.
Witnesses at the scene told Eyewitness News that it appears the car went into the water front first.
The car, which has been described as a black Dodge Durango, did not have license plates.
It appears that no one was inside the car at the time it was submerged.
