
Thousands of people are expected to turn out in Westfield on Tuesday morning to pay their final respects to fallen officer Jose Torres. The 27-year veteran was fatally struck by a construction vehicle during road detail Thursday.
The funeral for officer Torres will be held in the Paranzo Hall, Dever Auditorium at Westfield State University on Tuesday at 11 a.m. A police procession down Court Street and burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Drivers also be aware Western Avenue is closed to all traffic from Lloyd's Hill Road to Laura Drive. It will re-open after the service.
Westfield's City Hall and Municipal Departments will be closed to the public Tuesday at 10 a.m. This will allow city workers to attend Officer Torres Funeral.
