On-ramps, off-ramps closed on Route 15 in Norwalk

NORWALK, CT (WFSB) -

Wires fell across Route 15 in Norwalk on Tuesday afternoon, prompting the Connecticut Department of Transportation to close the highway on-ramps and off-ramps in both directions.

The highway ramps were closed between exits 40A and 40B in both directions, and it was unknown how long they would remain closed.

It was unknown what brought the wires down, but Connecticut Light & Power was reporting more than 850 outages in Norwalk as a result.

No other information was released from the DOT.
