Channel 3 was the only station at Watertown PD when Claude Turner and Elizabeth Swiderski were brought to court on Wednesday.
WATERTOWN, CT (WFSB) -
The two suspects charged in connection with the murder of a mother and her son in Watertown appeared in court Wednesday.
Channel 3 Eyewitness News was the only news station rolling as Claude Turner and his wife, Elizabeth Swiderski-Turner, left Watertown Police Department and headed to Waterbury Superior Court.
Claude Turner is charged with two counts of murder and other charges in the stabbing death of Donna Bouffard and her son, Mickael Perkins.
Their bodies were discovered inside their Watertown home, and police said they had been dead for up to a week before being found.
After the crime, police immediately began looking for Turner and his wife, because it was learned that they had been renting the basement from Bouffard.
According to police, the couple stole Bouffard's car, which they then sold before leaving the state.
The pair was located two weeks later in Baltimore where they were taken into custody.
Police said Claude Turner is facing eight charges, including capitol felony murder, larceny and credit card theft.
Elizabeth is also facing several charges, including hindering prosecution, forgery and credit card theft.
Though investigators said she did not partake in the actual murder, she did fabricate evidence to help her husband escape, according to police.
