Malloy among least supported governors

Posted: Updated:
HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

According to a recent Public Policy poll, Gov. Dannel Malloy is among the most unpopular governors in the nation.

Out of more than 40 governors the polling firm conducted, the only state leaders with a worse rating are Bev Perdue of North Carolina, Neil Aberchrombie of Hawaii, Pat Quinn of Illinois and Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania.

Malloy barely gets a 50 percent approval from Democrats, at 52-33 percent, and independent voters disapprove of him at a 2 to 1 ratio.

The Public Policy poll also theorizes that Malloy would trail a Republican challenger for re-election 46 percent to 39 percent.
