Bridgeport man killed in motorcycle crash in Westport

WESTPORT, CT (WFSB) -

A Bridgeport man was killed in an early morning motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 in Westport.

Police said Diego Bermudez-Garica, 27, of Bridgeport, was killed after the motorcycle he was driving collided with the rear end of a trailer unit attached to another vehicle.

It happened just before 5 a.m. Saturday morning, on Interstate 95 northbound near exit 18, in Westport.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured.

Police closed the northbound side of the highway at exit 18 for more than an hour following the crash.

Officials said Bermudez-Garica was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Investigators are still looking in to the exact cause of the crash.
