Torrington police arrest city resident, ticket father

TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Torrington police arrested 22-year-old Erica Saucier and charged her with several drug violations after officers executed a search warrant.

Police arrested Saucier who lives at 35 Bancroft Star with her father, Richard Saucier. Erica Saucier was charged with possession of prescription drug, failure to keep narcotics in original container, possession of a controlled substance, possession of heroin, possession of narcotics in a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the search, Richard Saucier, 51, was issued an infraction ticket for possession of under one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police also observed several items in the residence that were stolen. The items included iPods, baseball cards, jewelry, digital cameras, collectible coins, GPS devices and sunglasses. According to police, these items were stolen from unlocked cars throughout the city over the past several months. Police have received about 40 calls reporting stolen items from cars during the time.

Police are urging residents to keep their car doors locked and to remove valuables from their vehicles. According to police, if residents see anything that seems out of place, call police at 860-489-2007.
