It's August, and most people's minds are on the beach, but New Haven parks officials are already thinking of snowflakes and holiday lights.
The city's Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees has a wish list to decorate the New Haven Green for the winter holidays.
They're looking for someone to donate a Norway spruce or a Douglas fir between 55 feet and 70 feet tall. They can't buy the tree, but they'll relocate it to the Green free of charge.
When holiday time comes around, they plan to decorate it with more than 30,000 lights.
If you know a tree that's not quite there, trees now between 25 feet and 40 feet tall can be considered for a future holiday.
