WOODBRIDGE, CT (WFSB) -

Woodbridge police are investigating a bank robbery that was reported Tuesday morning.

Police said an armed man entered the Amity Road Citizen's Bank, immediately vaulted over the teller's counter and demanded money.

He then began filling bags with cash, and then vaulted back over the counter and ran out of the bank.

He was last seen walking south on Amity Road towards New Haven.

Police said the stolen money was carried away in two canvas-type bags, one green and one blue.

There were also dye packs inside the money he stole, which may have activated.

The man was described as a dark-skinned man with a large build and was between 5'8" and 6' tall.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with Sherwin Williams written on it, white painters pants, green knee pads, a dark-colored baseball cap with a gray brim and purple mechanic-style gloves.

His head and face were covered with an orange nylon stocking-type material.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police.
