EAST HAMPTON, CT (WFSB) -

East Hampton police are now calling the disappearance of 30-year-old Jini Barnum a criminal act.

Police released new information Wednesday morning saying there is a comprehensive criminal investigation into Barnum's disappearance.

Barnum was last seen on the evening of Saturday, July 28 at her home. She left her house after a reported disagreement with her boyfriend, Anthony Garafalo.

He was the last person to see her and called police saying she never came back home.

On Wednesday, evidence tape was found sealing the door of their apartment.

Barnum is a white female, approximately 5'2" and 160 pounds. She has blonde-red hair and numerous tattoos and piercings. She was last seen wearing jeans and a dark colored T-shirt. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail.

The East Hampton woman has had no contact with her family or friends since her disappearance.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 860-267-9922.
