NORTH BRANFORD, CT (WFSB) -
A chemical spill was reported at a water treatment plant in North Branford on Thursday morning.
According to the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority, approximately 50 to 70 gallons of a concentrated form of fluoride spilled during a transfer from a chemical delivery truck to the water treatment facility on Route 80 around 9:15 a.m.
The North Branford Fire Department responded to the scene, and officials from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection also arrived to investigate.
Officials said Clean Harbors Environmental Service was also working to clean the spill.
The spill was contained to the immediate area, and no evacuations or injuries have been reported.
