Route 145 closed due to overnight crash

WESTBROOK, CT (WFSB) -

Route 145 in Westbrook was closed for a period of time Saturday morning, after an early morning car crash.

It happened near the intersection of Route 145 and Cross Road, just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police said the driver of the car lost control and crashed into a utility pole.

Both the driver and a passenger in the car were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car was issued a citation for traveling too fast for conditions, and for operating a motor vehicle without a license.

No other information was released.
