HAMDEN, CT (WFSB) -
For the second time in just weeks, bedbugs were found at a Connecticut library.
Bedbugs were found at the Miller Memorial Library and the main branch along with the Whitneyville and Brundage Community branches are closed as a precaution.
Previously, the insects were found in DVD cases at a library in Middletown. They were found in books in Hamden.
As a precaution for both staff and patrons, Miller Memorial Library was closed Friday to allow for identifications of areas of concern and treatment to rid the library of the bugs.
The town is planning efforts throughout the weekend to complete the work needed.
Hamden is following Middletown's lead, who had a bedbug problem at their library earlier in the week, in asking patrons to return items that were taken out in Ziploc bags.
Any concerns about bedbugs in your home can be addressed by the town's health department, the Quinnipiac Valley Health District at 203-248-4528.
Additional information will be posted both here and on the town of Hamden website when it is available.
