BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -
A police officer from Bridgeport was injured during an assault late Saturday night.
According to officials, the police officer was attacked by four men outside the Merritt Canteen on Main Street.
Officials have not identified the police officer who was injured.
The officer suffered a broken wrist and several other injuries, officials said. He is now being treated at St. Vincent's Hospital.
Police said four white males were responsible for the attack. They have been taken into custody, police said.
