WESTFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts made their way through Hampden County Sunday afternoon.

The impressive display was all for the sixth annual Melha Riders Hospital Run.

The event helped raise money for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield.

Well over 500 motorcyclists began their trip in Westfield. From there, they visited Feeding Hills and West Springfield. After riding by the Shriners Hospital, the event ended at the Melha Shrine Center.

Organizers said what attracts the riders is the kids.

"That is what makes it all worthwhile," said Mike Santos of the Melha Riders. "People cheering as you go by. We also have spectators along our route that come out of their homes to cheer us on. They give you the goose bumps. That's what makes it worthwhile."

Each rider paid $15 to take part in the event.

CBS 3 Springfield was a media sponsor of this year's hospital run.
