Man arrested after pointing a rifle at several people

LEDYARD, CT (WFSB) -

Ledyard police have arrested a man after he pointed a rifle at several people during a disturbance.

Police said 20-year-old Brendon Richmond, of Gales Ferry, was involved in an argument with several people near the intersection of Shewville and Whitford roads around 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police said by the time they arrived Richmond had left the scene, but was located a short time later on Pumpkin Hill Road.

Several witnesses at that scene told police that Richmond pointed a rifle at them.

Police said they did locate an unloaded rifle inside Richmond's vehicle.

Richmond is charged with reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor and threatening. He is being held on a $10,000 bond and will appear in New London Superior Court on Monday.
