NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) -

The owner of a diner in New Haven said last week's flooding combined with existing building problems have caused his business to remain closed.

There are signs inside the Bru Cafe's window's that state "due to the landlord's neglect, we have massive flooding and water damage."

To open the diner, the owner must met certain requirements from the Connecticut Health Department.

However, the attorney for the landlord of the property said that the owner of the Bru Cafe has not paid rent since 2010. A claim that is being denied by the business owner.

It is unclear what the diner owner will do next, however for the time being he is offering customers free curbside coffee.

Another business owner on the property said they have not had any problems with the landlord.
