WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -
A West Haven High School assistant principal has resigned months after being accused of throwing a hamburger at a student.
Assistant Principal Patricia Whitney resigned Monday as members of the board of education met behind closed doors. The board accepted Whitney's resignation Monday night.
In May, the administrator allegedly threw a burger at a student, striking her in the face after the student had thrown the burger at Whitney.
The administrator was also reprimanded for insubordination and for leaving work too early in recent years.
