A routine traffic stop lead to two North Branford men being arrested after allegedly stealing copper pipes and wiring from a home Tuesday morning.

Police were called to Williams Road where the officer found an unoccupied car in the road. After determining that the car was not stolen, the officer noticed two men leaving a wooded area with a large gym bag, police said.

Sabetta and Gildersleeve broke into an unoccupied home on Foxon Road and stripped the residence of copper wiring and pipes, police said.

Both men were arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree Larceny and conspiracy to commit burglary and larceny. Sabetta and Gildersleeve are expected to appear in Superior Court in New Haven on Tuesday.
