PORTLAND,CT (WFSB) -
Firefighters in Portland had to battle a water supply issue in addition to an early morning fire Wednesday.
Firefighters were called to the home on Breezy Corners Road just after 2 a.m.
Officials said when crews arrived, they had a home fully involved in flames.
Fire crews had to set up to truck water in from a nearby source. Seven tankers were called in from several surrounding towns to help truck in the water.
The family was able to get out of the home safety, and no firefighters were hurt while fighting the fire.
The fire started in an apartment above the garage and spread quickly to the house, according to officials.
