PROSPECT, CT (WFSB) -
State police are investigating after a 7-year-old accidentally shot his neighbor in the chest Friday afternoon.
According to police, troopers received a 911 emergency call at 5:11 p.m. and responded to 13 Summit Road. Troopers quickly learned that the homeowner, Anthony DeLucia was shot in the chest by his male neighbor.
The shooting appears to be accidental and the weapon used was legally registered to DeLucia.
"This seems like it was completely accident," Lt. J. Paul Vance told Eyewitness News.
Police are still investigating, and Vance said he believes no charges will be filed.
DeLucia was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, where he is listed in stable condition.
