Thousands of Connecticut Light & Power customers have been left in the dark after an issue at a substation Tuesday morning.
Around 11 a.m. CL&P officials said equipment outside the Brooklyn CL&P substation failed, causing the power outages.
According to the CL&P website, 100 percent of the town of Hampton is without power and Brooklyn is reporting 55 percent of town is in the dark.
CL&P said crews were working to make repairs, but it was unknown how long those would take.
