MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB) -
Police in Middletown said they made an interesting discovery while arresting a convicted felon in Middletown on Tuesday.
The Middletown Police Department received numerous complaints concerning suspicious activity at 18 Glover Pl., and as a result, a search and seizure warrant was applied for and granted.
Detectives were able to determine that Jeff Spruill, 30, and his girlfriend Chanelle McCalla, 31, were the occupants of the home.
Police said they found Spruill and McCalla in a vehicle in the area of Main Street and Liberty Street, and conducted a motor vehicle stop.
When officers removed them from the vehicle, police said they found crack cocaine and marijuana inside Spruill's buttocks.
The crack cocaine had an approximate weight of 5.39 grams, police said, and the marijuana had an approximate weight of 4.9 grams.
Police said after the discovery they made their way to their home and inside found an unlabeled pill bottle containing Xanax and Dilaudid.
Several weapons were also seized by police including a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver. Police said all the guns were found fully loaded and there was additional ammunition located in home.
Officers also seized a camouflage body armor vest.
Police said at least one of the guns had been reported stolen, they are investigating if the others also were.
Spruill was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, three counts of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of body armor and theft of a firearm.
He is being held on a $300,000 bond and will be arraigned in Middletown Superior Court on Wednesday.
Police also seized the vehicle Spruill and his girlfriend were stopped in as evidence.
