Police investigating after pedestrian is hit by car in Old Saybrook

OLD SAYBROOK, CT (WFSB) -

Route 1 in Old Saybrook is closed after a person was hit by a car Wednesday night.

The crash occurred on Route 1 between Route 166 and Harvey Drive around 7 p.m. One lane is open while the investigation is being conducted.

There is no word on the extent of the injuries.

The Department of Transportation is reporting that it will take three hours for the scene to be cleared.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash on Wednesday night is asked to call Old Saybrook police.

Another person was hit by a car on Route 1 in June.
