Police search for suspect in bank robbery in Somers

SOMERS, CT (WFSB) -

State police are investigating a robbery at the Webster Bank in Somers that occurred on Saturday morning.

Police were called to 637 Main St. at 11:15 a.m. for a reported bank robbery. Upon arrival, police conducted a search of the area with K-9s and interviewed witnesses.

Witnesses told police that the suspect, who was wearing a white-and-blue bandana that covered his face and sunglass, jumped behind the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was used during the robbery, police said.

No one was injured during the bank robbery, police said.

The suspect fled into the rear parking lot of the building and drove off in a dark-colored sedan headed north on Battle Street.

The CT Bankers Reward Association is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect, police said.
