NEWINGTON, CT (WFSB) -
Newington police and firefighters investigated a serious accident on the Berlin Turnpike early Friday morning.
Police said the crash, involving at least one car and a tractor-trailer, is at the intersection of Prospect Street.
Police said the driver of the car was conscious when extricated from the vehicle. They were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Officials said the southbound lanes of the Berlin Turnpike were closed while emergency officials responded and investigated the crash, but all of the lanes were reopened around 7:30 a.m.
