
A Waterbury man has been arrested after being accused of sending and receiving images of child pornography.
Paul D'Ambrosio, 48, of Waterbury, was arrested Thursday at a U.S. Postal Service facility in Danbury where D'Ambrosio worked at a mail carrier.
According to officials, a Hartford police detective assigned to the Connecticut Computer Crimes Task Force logged on to a publicly available Internet file sharing program and downloaded approximately 50 images and 10 videos of child pornography from shared directories that were maintained by D'Ambrosio.
After his arrest, computers were seized a computer from D'Ambrosio's home.
D'Ambrosio appeared before a judge and he was released on bond under electronic monitoring.
If convicted, D'Ambrosio faces up to 20 years in jail and/or a fine of $250,000.
