Route 9 reopened in Cromwell

CROMWELL, CT (WFSB) -

State police have reopened Route 9 southbound at Exit 19 after an investigation.

Police were called to the scene after hearing reports of a person falling off the West Street overpass onto the highway.

According to police, a 14-year-old jumped from the West Street overpass. The girl was transported to Hartford Hospital after the accident with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The road was closed for about 45 minutes as police conducted an investigation.
