Accident in Somers closes road

SOMERS, CT (WFSB) -

Two men sustained injuries after they drove into the back of a tractor that was towing a hay-bailer shortly after 8 p.m. Friday.

Emergency crews responded to the accident, which closed Route 83 near Stafford Road for about two hours from several surrounding towns.

According to police, the driver of the tractor was unharmed and is likely to receive an infraction in the accident for not having lights on the hay-bailer. Police said the road would reopen before 11 p.m.
