West Haven police warning residents about solicitors

WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police in West Haven are warning residents about magazine solicitors, saying they could be dangerous.

According to officials, there have been multiple reports of individuals attempting to sell magazines to residents without the proper city-issued permits.

Police said the company in charge of the individuals Urban Nation Entertainment consists of approximately 30 members. Police said several of these workers have felony convictions, and several others are under investigation in connection to crimes that were committed in the area.

According to police, anyone with a criminal record would not be issued a city solicitation permit under West Haven police guidelines.

Anyone who encounters such a solicitor is being asked to call West Haven police.
