CLINTON, CT (WFSB) -
A man from Clinton is facing multiple charges after police found him in possession of several types of drugs.
Officials said Simon Ames, 19, of Clinton, was arrested early Saturday morning in the area of Glenwood Road, after police stopped the vehicle he was in due to its high speed.
Police said further investigation led officers to several controlled substances underneath the front passenger seat. The drugs included "hash pills," Hashish, liquid THC, and a small portion of marijuana.
According to police, Ames, who was a passenger in the car, admitted to possessing the drugs. He was then arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession and manufacturing of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and possession of marijuana.
The driver of the car, identified by police as Christopher Jump, 19, of Clinton, was also found to be in the possession of marijuana.
Ames is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on Sept. 14.
