Two arrested in connection to sexual assault at Hartford motel

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Two people have been arrested in connection with a sexual assault and kidnapping at a motel in Hartford.

Police were called to the Travel Inn Motel, located at 100 Weston Street, after reports of two women being held against their will.

A 20-year-old female victim told police that she was tied up and sexually assaulted by a man at the motel.

The suspect, identified by police as Danny Famania, 34, was arrested on multiple charges including first degree kidnapping, unlawful restraint, and aggravated sexual assault, as well as several other charges.

Police said Famania was found to be in possession of heroin and cocaine at the time of his arrest. He is also facing several drug charges including possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school.

According to court records, Famania has several previous arrests including failure to register as a sexual offender in the state of Connecticut, breach of peace, and numerous drug related charges.

Another person involved in the incident was also arrested, but officials have not released specific information because the suspect is a minor.  It remains unclear how this suspect was involved.
