WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -
With three deadly crashes in the past month and a half, and four other serious accidents over the past year, the intersection of Captain Thomas Boulevard and Dyke Street in West Haven could become the subject of a traffic study.
West Haven police said a motorcyclist was killed Monday night after crashing at the intersection. A second was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
In the background, a makeshift memorial stands from a previous crash that also left another motorcyclist dead just weeks before.
At last month's police commissioners meeting the discussion of starting up a traffic study to see if the intersection could be improved was brought up. That discussion is expected to be resumed Tuesday night at this month's meeting, and residents told Eyewitness News they believe changes do need to be made to the intersection.
West Haven police have not identified the victim of Monday's night crash at this time.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact West Haven police.
