HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
A New Britain man is in jail on a $1 million bond after he was charged with torturing and sexually assaulting two women in Hartford over the weekend, according to authorities.
According to police, the two women, who were not identified, met Danny Famania, 34, at the Travel Inn Motel early Saturday morning to buy marijuana. The women had been buying marijuana from Famania for about a month, police said.
After smoking marijuana, the women tried to leave the hotel; however, Famania, along with an unidentified 16-year-old boy, held up knives and ordered the women to strip for them, the police report stated. Famania accused them of stealing his drugs, the report said.
"They kidnapped them, at knife point," said one of the girl's relatives.
One of the women was found tied up in the shower as cold water ran over her body after the suspect locked her inside the bathroom, court papers stated.
The other woman was drawn on with a marker and forced to perform a sexual act on Famania, who was once listed on the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry.
Police said Famania fell asleep and the 16-year-old boy drove away in the women's car.
Parents of the 16-year-old boy told Eyewitness News that one of the girls is his friend and she was sending him naked pictures. They said that their son did nothing wrong.
