HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
Severe storms knocked out power to thousands of Connecticut Light & Power customers across Connecticut on Saturday afternoon and evening.
According to the CL&P website, more than 5,100 customers were left in the dark at one point due to the storms.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado and severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. Saturday night.
Although no tornadoes were reported in Connecticut, the same cell spawned two tornadoes in New York City.
