GROTON, CT (WFSB) -
A suspect was quickly apprehended after robbing a Naval Federal Credit Union branch. Naval Submarine Base New London (SUBASE) Police were notified of the robbery by the Groton Town police at about 1 p.m.
Groton police had tracked the suspect from the robbery on Sailfish Drive and requested base assistance in the apprehension. SUBASE police and Groton Town police jointly apprehended the suspect in the outbound lane of the base's Main Gate without incident at 1:30 p.m.
Additional details of the incident are part of an ongoing investigation, of which Groton Town police has the lead.
