I-95 southbound reopened after 7-car accident

NORWALK, CT (WFSB) -

The Norwalk Fire Department had a busy Sunday evening responding to two different car accidents.

Crews were called to I-95 South in Norwalk at about 8:15 Sunday evening after one car accident involving three cars triggered another accident involving four cars.

Four ambulances were called to the scene to transport several of the injured passengers.

A total of 10 people were transported to Norwalk Hospital, including several children.

The Norwalk Fire Department believes there were at least 17 occupants in the various vehicles.

The highway was closed for about an hour while crews cleaned up the debris.
