BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -
The producers of a new movie starring Cuba Gooding Jr. have come to Connecticut in the hope of finding background actors for the film.
The casting call for the general public will be held Tuesday at the Bridgeport Public Library from 1 to 7:30 p.m.
The producers are looking for paid background actors to play Africans, African Americans and Caucasians between the ages of 18 to 60, according to the post on the Connecticut Casting Facebook page. People are asked to look natural and not wear makeup, hair product or jewelry.
The movie, which is using the working title Something Whispered, centers around "a family's struggle in 1850 to escape slavery through the Underground Railroad," according to the Norwich Bulletin.
"This is a story of a journey to freedom and the unshackled spirit of the human heart," the news release said.
The movie will be filmed in various locations in Connecticut from September to November.
If people cannot make the casting call, they are asked to email featurefilmct@gmail.com.
