Police search for suspects in 2 bank robberies in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

The New Haven Police Department are investigating two bank robberies at two separate locations over the past five days.

Police were called to the TD Bank, at 994 Chapel St., around 8 p.m. on Friday for a reported armed robbery. Witnesses told police that a man approached the teller and indicated that he was in possession of a handgun. 

He demanded money and fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash, police said

A second bank robbery occurred at the Chase Bank, at 234 Church St., around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Once again, a man approached the teller demanded money and fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The cases are under investigation by the robbery/burglary units and Bureau of Investigation for the New Haven Police Department.
