Classes at Quinnipiac's Mount Carmel Campus have been canceled until Thursday afternoon due to a power outage.
Police said a 56-year-old Woodbury resident was traveling north on New Road when his vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole.
Police said the man had some sort of medical condition, lost consciousness and hit the pole, which snapped.
He was brought to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for injuries.
Due to the damage, power was affected in the area of New Road and Mount Carmel Avenue, including Quinnipiac University.
Officials said the road was closed between Mount Carmel and New Road, and the New road entrance to Quinnipiac University.
The road is expected to be closed for several hours.
