WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

United States Marshals have arrested a man in the shooting death of a 27-year-old Waterbury resident in May.

Joseph Walker was arrested in Schenectady, NY, on Thursday afternoon. He was charged with felony murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a firearm.

Marshals arrested Walker for the murder of David Caban, 27, who was shot in the head while sitting in his car on Proctor Street on May 12. Police said the motive for the shooting was a drug-related robbery.

Waterbury police said they filed an arrest warrant for Walker on May 25 and have been searching for him all summer.

Walker has family in Schenectady and police believe that is why he fled to New York.

He will be extradited back to Connecticut in the near future.
