SIMSBURY, CT (WFSB) -

The state's medical examiner has identified the two people found dead in a Simsbury apartment after a shooting Wednesday night.

The Simsbury Police Department said Elizabeth Day, 24, died from multiple gunshots after being shot by Michael Wawrzyniak. Police said Wawrzyniak, 29, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Around 8:30 p.m., police said they received a 911 call from Day at the Meadow Apartment Complex on Route 10.

In the 911 call, Day said her boyfriend, Wawrzyniak, was going to shoot her and himself, and that he was pointing a gun at her.

Then two gunshots were heard.

When police arrived in seconds, they attempted to make contact with people inside. Police said the only sounds coming from inside were from the cries of a baby. Police forced their way into the apartment and said they found Wawrzyniak and Day dead.

An 18-month-old boy was found in the apartment uninjured,  police said.

The deadly shooting was the first in Simsbury in 11 years.
