More than 100 volunteers are expected to participate in a search for Holly Bobo this weekend.
About a dozen volunteers gathered at the Highland Park Church in West Nashville early Saturday before they drove to Darden, where the search was organized.
"A lot of these teams of volunteers that do this - you would think that they were paid but they're volunteers." said volunteer coordinator Dale Robble. "They bring in lots of equipment, tracking dogs. All kinds of people from different walks of life, but they do this as volunteers."
Crews have been searching wooded areas near Decatur County since Bobo's disappearance in 2011.
Bobo's family hopes to find Holly in time for her 21st birthday Oct. 12.
"I am optimistic," Robble said. "Having talked to a lot of people involved, I feel like the areas we are going to are areas that have not been searched - and they have reasons that we're going there, which I don't know. But there are reasons that we're going there. Again it's never a wasted search when someone is missing."
