NEW HAVEN, CT (AP) -

Aung San Suu Kyi, whose struggle for democracy and human rights in Myanmar earned her a Nobel Peace Prize, is coming to Yale University to give a talk.

The Myanmar opposition leader is scheduled to give a public speech on Thursday.

Suu Kyi was elected to parliament after 15 years of house arrest and chairs the National League for Democracy in the Southeast Asian nation also known as Burma. She waged a peaceful struggle against Myanmar's generals over more than two decades.

Suu Kyi will visit Yale under the auspices of the Chubb Fellowship, one of the highest honors accorded to a visiting speaker. Chubb Fellows have included former U.S. presidents and prominent figures in government, industry and the arts.
