A Vernon man has been arrested after hitting another man in the neck with a baseball bat during a recreational baseball game, according to police.

Police said Jonathan Feigenbaum, 36, of Springfield Road, popped out to the outfield during the game and began swearing and slamming his metal bat on the ground.

Feigenbaum then swung the bat and let it go, which then hit a man standing at home plate in the neck, according to police.

Police said the unidentified man suffered serious physical injuries.

The incident was investigated and an arrested warrant was applied for and granted.

Upon learning of the warrant, Feigenbaum turned himself in to police.

He was charged with assault and reckless endangerment and was held in jail on $10,000 bond.
