MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB) -
Middletown police arrested a 63-year-old Virginia man Friday who was wanted for raping a child in North Carolina.
Police noticed a black Oldsmobile on Farm Hill Road just after 9 p.m. Officers determined that the registration for the car had been suspended, so they pulled the vehicle over.
The driver, who police identified as Huther Lee Holley, told officers that the vehicle belonged to his cousin and he was unaware that his registration had been suspended.
Officers determined Holley was wanted on charges for raping a child in Windsor County, NC. Holley will be extradited to North Carolina in the near future, police said.
In Connecticut, Holley was charged with operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration and operating a motor vehicle in violation of license classification. He is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Middletown on Oct. 3.
