SOUTHINGTON, CT (WFSB) -
Parents in Southington said they are concerned about potentially dangerous chemicals that have been found inside two middle schools.
PCBs were found in window caulking at Depaolo and Kennedy Middle Schools, which are both in the middle of $85 million in renovations.
PCBs can be harmful if they are inhaled or ingested, but environmental officials said the students and staff are safe.
Air quality tests did not find PCBs in the air.
At a public hearing Wednesday night, school officials told parents the PCBs will be removed when school is not in session.
