Posted: Updated:

The Westport Police Department arrested a man they said has an extensive history of bank fraud and identity theft in the state.

Westport police arrested Eric Christian, 29, of Norwalk on Wednesday night.

Police said Christian was arrested in Westport in July after an extensive manhunt. The arrest warrant comes from a complaint filed in April by First County Bank. The investigation showed Christian as the suspect, police said, and the warrant was applied for and granted for the crime of criminal impersonation and identity theft.

He was charged with both crimes and was held on $500,000 bond.
