Pedestrian struck by car in Manchester

MANCHESTER, CT (WFSB) -

A 14-year old boy was hit by a car Thursday night after he rode into traffic on a bicycle with no brakes.

The unidentified teenager was riding on Edgerton Road at about 7:45 p.m. when he rode into traffic on Center Street. He was hit by a car and rode on the roof of vehicle for 20 yards, police said.

The driver stopped the vehicle and called police. 

The teenager was taken to Children's Medical Center with several broken bones, police said. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The accident is under investigation. However, no charges have been filled at this time.
